Beauty Christmas

Review: CODE Beautiful

The lovely Sarah from Code Beautiful kindly gave me the Code Beautiful FFL Primer and VLM Mascara to try a few months ago.

I was in the middle of trying out a mascara so figured I’d wait until it was used before opening another, a decision I’ve since regretted. Over the past month I have not put anything else near my lashes!

The women behind CODE Beautiful, Kirsti and Sarah, decided to create the CODE VLM mascara as they ‘got fed up with mascaras that promised this, that and the other’ whilst never getting the lashes they wanted.

Since the launch in 2014 CODE VLM has become a must have in many celebrity makeup bags and a firm favourite with beauty lovers.

After trying both the CODE VLM and FFL for myself, I can see why!

This is a pre-mascara lash plumper which is applied before mascara to help give lashes volume, thickness and length.

FFL is a light brown formula which applies so easily to the lashes and instantly transforms them. My lashes looked so much fuller after applying this.

I think what I love most about using this is it is actually helping my lashes. The ingredients are designed to hydrate and soften lashes, making them healthier whilst also preventing the dreaded flaky mascara.

Although this isn’t specifically designed to make your lashes grow, I have noticed a huge difference in mine since I started using this. My lashes are so much softer and I find I don’t need to rub as much to remove my mascara, which is a definite pro.

CODE Beautiful VLM is a black mascara with a fibrous brush that helps to lift, lengthen and volumise lashes.

I always pop on a layer of this over the FFL and they are a match made in heaven. After letting the primer dry for a few seconds, one coat of this is enough to give me the length and volume I want from a mascara.

If I’m looking for an even more dramatic look I will build on a second layer and cut out the false lashes all together. This duo has been a saviour for me as it cuts out the hassle of falsies and saves my natural lashes from the damage of lash glue.

These are must have for me and I dread the day I run out of them!

Thanks for reading!

  1. I’ve never heard of this brand but both of these mascaras sound great! I might have to have to look at this brand a little! 🙂
