My Holy Grail Makeup – Concealer

Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer
I think every woman, no matter how often they wear makeup, has their favourite products that they reach for over and over again. I know I have some favourites that I will always go back to and repurchase immediately if they run out. Today Im talking about my holy grail concealer.
It was only when I reached my 20s that I realised I needed to start using concealer. In my early teens I would have just piled on extra foundation in the places I needed more coverage. No wonder it always felt so heavy and cakey! I’ve since been on the hunt for the perfect concealer and it was only in January that I discovered my absolute holy grail, the Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser.

The Maybelline Dark Circle Eraser has glowing reviews in the bloggersphere and I can see why. It is enriched with Goji Berries to nourish the skin and Haloxyl which has anti-aging properties and helps reduce the appearance of dark circles, whilst also giving the coverage needed.
Personally I only ever use concealer under my eyes to cover my dark circles and help add some definition to my face. If I’m suffering with blemishes I prefer to have a makeup free day so I can’t say how well this stands up as a blemish concealer.

Out of the two I definitely use the light shade more as I tend to use this for highlighting under the eyes as well as concealing. However if my dark circles are very bad I will use the neutraliser shade. This is slightly more yellow toned which helps to cover dark circles. (Now if its been a long weekend and I need more coverage, I put a light layer of the neutraliser followed by a layer of the light eraser).
I have the dark circle eraser in two shades, neutraliser and light. Now I bought mine from America as they have a lot more shades available, here in Ireland light or nude are our only options.

Normally I will apply this after putting on my foundation, in a triangle shape under each eye. I combine this step with my contouring and blend everything at the same time. I would say though that this dries pretty quickly so you need to be fast in blending it in and then use a light dusting of powder (I love the Paese rice powder) to set this for the day.

For me, the Dark Circle Eraser is the perfect under eye concealer. It does exactly what it says it will and lasts all day without crumbling away. At €11.99 it’s super affordable and definitely one of the best on the market.
