Every beauty blogger has them, their favourite products. The products we reach to over and over again as we know they will give us the result we want. Every month we share with you what products we loved that month and now that it is the end of the year it is time to share the overall favourites. What products reached the top spot. What products continued to impress us with every use. I have not been blogging for very long but I have been playing with makeup and beauty products for years now. James thinks I’m obsessed, I probably am! So now I’m going to share with you the products I loved using in 2015 and am sure I will continue to reach for throughout 2016…
Fuschia Mink Lashes 203 the Marilyn
I have never been a massive fan of false eyelashes. Mainly because I usually screw up when putting them on which in turn messes up my makeup. I get frustrated, then angry, and then I throw the lashes in the bin asking myself why I bothered in the first place. But sometimes we all want the added dramatics of wearing false lashes, there’s no denying they make your eyes stand out that little bit more. I decided to try out the Fuschia lashes when I was getting my makeup done in their Drogheda store in November and I’m so glad I did! At first they were a little heavy on the eye but I quickly got used to them, it helped that they looked amazing! I bought the Marilyn lashes because lets be honest, everyone knows they’re fake, so you might as well pick the biggest most gorgeous falsies you can get. I’m not talking tacky with feathers on the ends, just beautiful, full, fake eyelashes. At only ?15 a pair I would definitely recommend trying them out, I know I’ll be going back for more!
Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara
I’m not gonna lie, I have long lashes, most of my family do (It was one trait I was happy to inherit!), so most of the time I really don’t need false eyelashes. With the right eyelash primer and mascara I can get the look I’m going for, without gluing something onto my eyelids. In the absence of false eyelashes my go-to mascara has to be this beauty! I love a thick brush on the mascara wand and this gives me exactly what I want and more. The bristles are dense and thick giving me really full lashes. This is hands down my favorite mascara on the market and I can’t see that changing anytime soon.
Revlon Colourstay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin
I’ve mentioned a few times that I suffer from dry skin. Over the past year I have found myself straying away from my usual MAC foundation and picking this instead. This foundation gives a medium to heavy coverage depending how its applied and comes in a range of shades with two different formulas, one for oily/combination skin and one for normal/dry skin. This is one of the things I love about this foundation, it suits pretty much everyone! I love how this sits on my skin and doesn’t cause further drying like a lot of formulas on the market do. I’ve noticed some wear with this around my mouth and forehead area but I get that with every foundation I’ve tried so its not a major concern for me. At the moment this is my overall favorite from all the foundations I tried out in 2015.
M.A.C. Viva Glam II Lipstick
Would you believe me if I said James bought this for me. I didn’t tell him I wanted it, I wasn’t even looking at lipsticks. He just came home with it one day… I’m happy to say he did good! This is by far my most used lipstick. I was taking a look back at some pictures from 2015 and i’m wearing this in at least 75% of them. I have fallen in love! It is a pinky beige nude lipstick with a satin finish that literally works with everything. It feels creamy on the lips but lasts hours which is exactly what I need. This is the most amazing nude lipstick out there and you need it! I’m nearly half way through my tube and I dread the day that I run out.. This is definitely my holy grail lipstick.
Cocoa Brown 1 Hour Tan
I jumped onto the Cocoa Brown bandwagon pretty late to be honest. It wasn’t until at least halfway through 2015 before I tried this tan out. You’d be hard pushed these days to find a girl that hasnt tried it or at least heard of it, I’ve just always been a big fan of the Rimmel tans. I’m so glad I tried this though as it is fast becoming one of my favourite tans to use on a night out. I love how the formula is tinted so I can see exactly where I am applying and that though it darkens over time, I don’t look like an oompa-loompa if i don’t have time to rinse it off before heading out. One of my biggest hates with false tan is the greenish tinge that some of them give off, I just don’t get that with Cocoa Brown. Hats off to Marissa Carter, she has created one hell of a product that we can all actually afford!
Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette
So contouring was a big craze in 2015 and everyone set out to find the perfect contour kit. Whilst almost everyone and their mother caught on to the craze, not everyone could contour properly and soon public places were filled with women with harsh lines drawn on their faces from not blending properly. I was wary of this craze for that exact reason so instead of spending a small fortune on a contour kit I went for the cheaper option, the NYX Wonderstick. It is simple, easy to use and whats more is it blends super easily. I use this on a regular basis when doing my makeup and I know its something I’ll reach to time and time again in 2016.
So there you have it, my favorite beauty products from 2015. I loved using these products in 2015 and can’t wait to continue using them this year. If you haven’t tried these I seriously recommend buying them, they won’t disappoint. Or have you tried these and think I’m crazy? Let me know in the comments underneath!
