Beauty Favourites posts from the past year are part and parcel of a blogger or vloggers content in January.
Whilst you may be sick of hearing what products bloggers have loved throughout 2017, they are some of my favourite posts. I love seeing what beauty products others have tried and loved enough to consider their favourites from a whole year. Every January I love adding some of the products that others love to my shopping list if I have not tried them myself.
I strayed away from doing monthly favourites in 2017 as I felt I wasn’t trying enough new products every month to be able to have select favourites. I will be continuing with this in 2018 and writing more in depth product reviews as opposed to monthly favourites.
2017 was a great year for beauty and so I thought, like so many others, I would do a round up of my favourite products. These were some of the staple items in my makeup collection this year and the new items I fell in love with. Throughout the year I still used so many products from my 2016 beauty favourites so be sure to check that out if you haven’t already.
Without further ado, here are some of my beauty favourites from 2017…
Kylie Cosmetics Koko x Kylie Face Palette
This has been one of my most reached for palettes since I bought it this year. The blush is such a nice bright pink and the bronzer gives a gorgeous warm glow. I always use the two highlighters in the palette. I’ve been using the Troop Beverly Hills highlight shade a lot over the winter as my skin is much lighter and I used the 90210 shade so much through the summer.
Flormar Anti-Blemish Foundation
I was sent this during the year from Flormar to try out and it has been a staple in my makeup bag since. I love this as my everyday foundation. Normally I stay away from foundations that say they are mattifying or cover blemishes as they tend to dry my skin too much. This has been brilliant though and actually sits really well on my dry skin. I did a full review on this during the year so be sure to check it out.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
I bought this at the start of the year and have loved it since. This was talked about so much when it came out in 2016 but I held off until 2017 when I eventually gave in and purchased it. The colours in this palette are so beautiful and create the most amazing looks. From neutral to full on burgundy and wine smoked out eyes, there is so many different looks that can be created from this palette.
Colourpop Liquid Lipsticks
After dying to get my hands on Colourpop lipsticks for so long I bought a ton of them this year. I love the matte liquid lipsticks as they are so long wearing and have minimal drying on the lips. My favourites are definitely the ultra satin lips, they just glide on and feel amazing on the lips. I think my most worn shades have probably been the Alexis Ren x Colourpop matte lip in Little Weapon and the satin lip in Magic Wand which is such a gorgeous nude. I have so many shades in these lippies so you can see all of them here.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Refill in Mink
I love ABH as a brand and heard so much about the contour kits and wanted to try out a few for myself this year. Instead of getting the whole kit I bought the contour shade Mink to pop into my Z palette. This powder contour blends perfectly on the skin and the deep taupe shade is great for contouring. This is also completely Vegan and Cruelty free which is always a plus!
Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette
One of the cult beauty releases of 2017. The Sweet Peach palette was in high demand worldwide and I was dying to get my hands on it. It hasn’t disappointed and I’ve worn it throughout the summer and also for darker looks into the winter. This is such an all round palette and one I make sure to bring away with me!
LOV Cosmetics EveNelixer Serum Foundation
I received this foundation as part of a press drop during the year and wasn’t sure if I’d like it at first. It has a dropper applicator and is quite runny, which initially put me off trying it out. After trying it for a night out my mind immediately changed. Whilst the foundation seems quite runny it applies amazingly and you need to use very little to achieve great coverage. It is a medium coverage foundation but can be built up to achieve a more full coverage look.
What I loved about this foundation was how great it felt on the skin. It is not heavy or tacky and gives a gorgeous glow. It really feels like a second skin as it blends in so well and doesn’t just sit on top as a lot of foundations do. If you seen my New Years Eve makeup tutorial on my Instagram stories you’ll have seen how this melts into the skin. I have this in the shade 050 Pure Nudity which goes perfectly when I’m wearing tan. I will definitely be picking this up in a few other shades to wear when I have no tan as I can see this being a makeup bag staple throughout 2018.
Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
I fell in love with this mascara this year. The bristles on the wand help to create volumes and longer looking lashes. They coat eyelashes perfectly and the formula is really black and glides on easily. I’ve tried so many mascaras over the year but this has definitely come out on top.
Beauty Blender has been around for years and I really don’t know how it took me so long to try it out. It is a little sponge of magic! When damp, the Beauty Blender gives the most flawless finish to foundation that I have ever had. It is perfect for blending in foundation and concealer and I use it to apply powder to set my underage area too. As I have such dry skin most brushes tend to blend my foundation in a way that accentuates dry patches. As the beauty blender is damp, it blends the foundation evenly into my skin but doesn’t remove moisture and helps give a more airbrushed and glowing finish.
Bellamianta Dark Tanning Lotion
I’m a long time fan of Bellamianta and loved trying out their new Dark lotion this year. The medium lotion has been my favourite from the start but this is a strong second favourite behind it. It glides on easily and doesn’t give an awful tan smell. This is a gorgeous shade of tan for during the summer and doesn’t dry skin out as much as a mousse tan does.
