Christmas is a time for spending with family, eating ALL the nice things, and relaxing! Every year I love to have one really relaxing pamper eveing in the run up to Christmas day.
Christmas is my favourite time of year. I love the decorations, festive food, movies and singing along (badly) to my favourite Christmas songs. It can also be a pretty hectic time of year. From trying to get all your shopping done, orgainisng everyones gifts and getting projects done before the Christmas deadline in work.
It’s nice to take a break every now and then and just relax. I’ve set aside this Friday to have an evening to myself. James is working the night shift so it’s the perfect evening for some me time. We’ll be spending the weekend visiting family so I’ll need some time to chill out before then!
Firstly, my favourite thing to do is run a nice warm bath to relax in and have some me time. I love using Lush bath bombs and salts. Now is the perfect time of year to stock up on some lovely bath sets. If you’re planning your own pamper evening why not check out what sets are on offer in your local pharmacy. McCabes and Boots always have some great sets.
Whilst I’m relaxing in the bath I love to put on a Christmas movie on Netflix. Then I pop in a hair mask and also put on a face mask. This year I can already tell you I’ll be watching Love Actually! On my last trip to get my hair done I got some of the Precious Nature some hair masks to try out. You can find out more about them from my previous blogmas post full of tips on how to keep your hair healthy in the winter.
I find sheet masks so relaxing whilst I’m laying in the bath so I’ll be using one of the Sephora Collection masks. My skin gets so dry during the winter so I love using sheet masks like these to add extra hydration. Hopefully these can help get my skin in shape because I’ll be wearing a good bit of makeup over Christmas.
Once I’m out of the bath it will be straight on with the onesie and onto the couchwith the fire lit! I haven’t had the time to get my nails done this year so I’ll add a bit of red polish to them before devouring a hot chocolate and some Christmas cookies! I try to make my own treats every year when I have time. This year I’ll have freshly made gingerbread men and hopefully some chocolate truffles if they work out!
