A good while ago I seen Nurse Fancy Pants did a blog on all her empty beauty products or her trash as she called it. I thought it was such a good idea so I decided I would start to keep the product packaging for the products I’ve used up so I could do a post on it all.
The Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara has to be my all time favourite mascara. I’ve never tried a Smashbox product that I haven’t liked. When I reach for a mascara this is normally the one I always go for. I don’t even care how much this costs, I will always repurchase this. I love how big and fluffy the brush is and the formula is just perfect. It gives my lashes so much volume along with adding a bit of length too.
Britney Spears Fantasy perfume is one of the first perfumes I ever bought for myself. I was obsessed with Britney as a kid so I bought this perfume as soon as it came out and I have repurchased ever since. It has a fruity sweet scent and it just reminds me of so many memories from my teenage years. It may be a slightly childish scent for me at this stage but I just love having a bottle of this for memories.
I got this Dove Anti-Perspirant in a gift set at Christmas and only tried it out around March because I had run out of my regular spray. I don’t know what it is about Dove but I can’t stand any of their anti-perspirants or deodorants. Dove products are supposed to be kind to the skin but for me ever spray I’ve tried irritates my underarms and actually gives me a rash. I don’t really understand why it does this but this is definitely a product I’ll be steering clear of.
I got this pot of the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Light cream in a Glossybox months ago and loved it from the first use. I suffer from dry skin and this just felt so hydrating whenever I used it. It is the perfect everyday moisturiser as its not too heavy so it goes really well under makeup and helps keep my skin hydrated throughout the day. I had actually forgotten to repurchase this until I pulled it out of my box of empty products but I will definitely be picking it up the next time I’m in Boots.
I had never heard of this brand before and after trying the Moonlight Renewal Cream I can see why. Tesco had a range of the Skin Wisdom Instant Benefits products on the shelves when I went in one day so I figured I’d see what it was like. I think I only paid about ?4 for this and honestly I wish I’d bought a tub of ice cream instead. There is no other word for this than crap. It is pure crap, don’t bother wasting your money.
I picked the L’Oreal Skin Perfection Micellar Water up on offer in Boots after Christmas as I had run out of my regular cleanser and this was reduced to like ?3 or something. As micellar waters go I think this is a pretty good one especially for the price. I always see it on offer in different places and I actually prefer it to the Garnier Micellar water that everyone raves about. They both do the same thing but I think this L’Oreal micellar water is a bit more gentle and my skin feels so clean after using it. This is really good at removing my regular mascara too if I soak a cotton pad and hold it on my eye for a few seconds and then just wipe it off.
I was really excited to get the Bandi Hydro Care moisturiser in a Glossybox, I think it was March or April maybe, as it says its an intensive moisturising cream and my skin was so dry at the time. This was more than just a disappointment, its false advertising if you ask me. There is no way a product should be allowed to claim it’s “intensely moisturising” if it contains alcohol! Alcohol completely strips the skin of moisture. I wouldn’t have massively sensitive skin but the minute I put this on my face I knew something was wrong. My whole face went completely raw red and developed a painful rash. I washed this off straight away but was left with irritated red skin for about two days after. This is definitely one to steer clear of.
I ran out of my MAC Studio Fix Fluid months ago and haven’t brought myself to repurchase it yet. A lot of people love this foundation but I’m really on the fence about it. As I said I have dry skin and I find this settles into patches and makes my skin look so bad. I’ve used this foundation for years but lately have completely fallen out of love. I think for me I could only wear this during the summer months when my skin is more normal. I know I will end up buying more MAC foundation but I don’t think I’ll be buying the Studio Fix Fluid anytime soon.
I got the Viviscal Gorgeous Growth Shampoo & Conditioner in a goodie bag last year and only got around to trying them out in January. I was so excited for these as they have Ana:Tel Complex and claim to promote healthy, thicker and fuller looking hair. These were such a let down, so much so that I couldn’t even finish them off. Even James wouldn’t use them, thats how bad they are. It was really hard to get a lather with the shampoo so I needed to use so much product for my amount of hair. After shampooing and conditioning my hair it just didn’t feel right. It felt like there was a residue being left behind no matter how much I rinsed out the product. I was actually so afraid to even use a hairdryer after using these, I honestly thought whatever was being left behind would burn under the heat. I really wanted this shampoo & conditioner to be great but after a week, I couldn’t bear to use them any longer.
I really hope you liked this type of post and I’d love to know should I keep these up. There are some products here that I really love and repurchase quite a bit, and others that never deserved to be made in the first place.
