Permanent Ombr? Brow Treatment
This is hands down the best beauty treatment I got during 2016. I was invited by Olena from Luxury Permanent Makeup to come in and get my brows done and it is a decision I do not regret. I have cut down drastically on the amount of brow product I need and most days don’t need to apply anything. My brows are perfectly defined and carved, all I need to do is a little upkeep with some plucking and the occasional tint here and there. This is 100% a treatment I would recommend to everyone out there and Olena is one of the best in Ireland to do it.
BRYT Skincare nourish serum
This hydrating serum by BRYT Skincare was new to the Irish market in 2016 and I haven’t stopped using it. I use this morning and night, I love how it makes my skin feel plump and hydrated. This serum smells seriously amazing and soaks into the skin quickly so I’m not waiting around before applying my moisturiser.
Image Skincare Vital C Hydrating Repair Cr?me
I received this in part of a gift set at the Image Skincare Christmas lunch a few months ago. This luxurious cream has now become a staple in my beauty routine and another product that I dread running out of. I have such dehydrated skin that I need a heavy moisturiser to battle the dryness. This is a lifesaver for me.
Smashbox contour sticks
Whilst contouring has slowly started to die out, I still love to add some subtle definition to my face. I use the contour shade in this set the most, it is so easy to apply and blends seamlessly with my foundation. Hands down one of the best contour products I’ve ever used.
Kylie lip kits
I was a latecomer to the liquid lipstick game. The thought of a matte lipstick scared me as I felt it would be so tight on the lips. The Kylie lip kits have completely changed my mind and I’m constantly buying new shades. These are my most reached for lipsticks and I can’t see that changing any time soon.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Self-Made Palette
I know everyone has been raving about the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette, mine is ordered and in the post. However for me the Self-Made palette was definitely one of my go-to palettes all year. The quality of the eyeshadows and the range of looks I’ve created throughout the year have been amazing. ABH definitely know what they’re doing when it comes to eyeshadow.
Inglot Liquid Eyeliner
Whilst I’m not terrible at eyeliner, I wouldn’t classify myself as skilled on applying it either. After trying this liquid eyeliner for Inglot this year my skill level has greatly increased. It is so easy to use and lasts all day without moving or smudging.
Benefit Blushin’ Babe
I don’t know how I can call myself a makeup addict when I hadn’t tried any Benefit products before 2016! This blush palette was part of their Christmas collection and I now carry it everywhere with me. It has almost everything you need for a full face and that Hoola bronzer is to die for.
Ciat? x Olivia Palermo Lipstick
I picked this up at the start of the year in TK Maxx for only ?8.99 in the shade Praline, a gorgeous dark nude satin lipstick. The formula is highly pigmented but not drying on the lips at all. The packaging is also to die for!
Aussie Miracle Recharge Take The Heat Spray
I’ve really made a conscious effort to try look after my hair this year. I love using this leave in conditioner from Aussie. It leaves my hair soft and smelling gorgeous, whilst also protecting it from the heat of my hairdryer, GHD and curler.
PS… Blend & Cleanse
This brush cleaning spray from Penneys (Primark) has been a must have for me throughout the year. This is so handy for those days when you need to get your brushes cleaned quickly. Just a spray on the brush and a wipe on some kitchen roll and your brush is spot-cleaned and ready to use.
Moroccan Oil Treatment Light
I was very skeptical of hair oils when they came out. Thinking they would make my hair greasy, I stayed well clear. After receiving a sample of this, my mind has completely changed. My hair is so much healthier and no longer feels as straw-like at the ends.
Paese Rice Powder
This has been my most used powder over the past year. Before trying this I always preferred a compact powder but the Paese rice powder has completely changed my mind. This rice powder is so finely milled and gives such a silky finish to the skin. It is also perfect for setting concealer under the eyes as it doesn’t settle into creases or cake after a few hours.
Nivea Aftershave Balm
After being made famous by Nicki Tutorials use of this as a primer, the beauty world soon followed suit. This is by far one of the best primers I?ve ever tried. It hands down stands up to a lot of the really expensive primers out there and really helps stick foundation to your face. My makeup does not budge when I wear this underneath and even better, it costs less than ?7 for a 100ml bottle!
Cailyn BB Fluid Touch Compact
I had high hopes for this foundation when I first bought it as it has been raved about by many Irish beauty bloggers. I wasn’t disappointed, this has been one of my most used foundations over the past year, I’m raging I ran out just before Christmas. It moisturises, conceals, brightens, corrects and covers my skin perfectly, giving me the radiant look I crave.
Urban Decay x Gwen Stefani Eyeshadow Palette
This palette was released in 2015 to massive hype and that Christmas I knew I had to get my hands on it. This is perfect for keeping in my handbag, with it’s huge mirror and range of neutral to dramatic shades, it is the perfect palette for your day to night look.
Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Foundation
When I first tried this foundation, it definitely wasn’t a favourite. After a renewed skincare regime and paired with a good primer, this has quickly become on of my favourite foundations. I reviewed this in early 2016, and whilst at the time I wasn’t 100% in love but after using it for a year, I can safely say this was my go-to foundation all year.
Bellamianta Tanning Lotion & Dark Rapid Mousse
These were the breakout product of 2016 in my opinion. Everyone went mad for both the medium tanning lotion and the dark mousse, with both being very difficult to get your hands on after selling out almost everywhere. Whilst I’ve tried a few other tabs over the year, none stand out to me as much as Bellamianta. The quality of the tan is amazing and it is so long lasting without being orange or looking dirty at all. Check out my full review of the tanning lotion here.
Cocoa Brown Kind Shampoo & Conditioner
I’ve tried to put a lot more care and attention into my hair over the past year. Cocoa Brown made this so much easier with the release of their Kind Shampoo & Conditioner. The quality of these products is amazing, especially considering the price point. I love the signature Tahitian Gardenia scent and also how soft this leaves my hair after washing. I just need to try hide these from James so he stops using them up on me!
Sally Hansen Nail Polish
Nails are one thing I always neglect, they take so much time and for me, they usually smudge anyway. Over the last year I have loved using the Sally Hansen polishes. They are by far the best I’ve tried and last me at least 5-7 days without chipping.
NYX brow pencil
My ultimate brow product of 2016 is the NYX micro brow pencil. I’m actually devastated that mine ran out a few weeks ago and I haven’t had a chance to pick up a new one yet. I 100% believe this is a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills version, and it’s much more affordable. This comes in a range of shades to suit every hair tone. The micro tip makes it easy to outline brows and create hairlike strokes, whilst the brush on the opposite end helps to disperse the product through the brow.
Maybelline Age Rewind Eraser
I picked this up in the shade neutraliser at the start of the year after hearing The Beautiful Truth rave about it. I am so glad I did! This concealer is hydrating under the eyes but still does what I need it to, cover those dark circles!
YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils
I received a sample size of this during the year and it wasn’t long before I picked up the full size. The packaging alone makes this worth buying! I love the bristles on this brush and how easy it is to disperse the product onto each lash. This makes my lashes look long and feathery whilst also being full of volume.
Becca Champagne Pop
I got this as a gift for Christmas in 2015 and it has definitely been my most used highlighter throughout the year. Jaclyn Hill knows what she’s talking about when in comes to makeup and her collab with Becca definitely didn’t disappoint.
CODE Beautiful FFL & VLM
After trying the CODE Beautiful primer and mascara towards the end of 2016 they quickly became permanent in my makeup bag. I love how when these are paired together, my lashes look double the length. You can check out my detailed review of both of these, but I would 100% recommend trying these if your looking for fuller, longer lashes.
Were any of these your favourite products from 2016, I’d love to hear if you’ve tried any of these or are going to try them this year.
