If you’ve followed me for a while I’m sure you’ve noticed by now I’m more on the curvy side of things when it comes to my clothes size. My weight goes up and down and is something I’ve always struggled with.
I have always had big boobs and find sometimes it can be a struggle to find clothes to suit. Showing off my stomach is a no-no for me so the resurgence of crop tops over the past few years has horrified me. I’ve lost count of the number of times a pretty top has caught my eye to discover the fabric ends above the belly button.
Whilst I shop in so many high street stores, a lot of the time I find the clothes just don’t sit right. The fabric may be too elasticated so it accentuates everything I want to hide, or it is too low cut so I feel like all people can see are my boobs!
When it comes to dressing for a more curvy size there are a few shops I’ve began to regularly shop from, knowing that I won’t have an issue with how things sit on me.
Here are some of my top shops (physical or online) that I go to when I’m looking for outfits to suit my shape.
I have shopped on Littlewoods for years and will continue to do so well into the future. I love the huge range of brands available on the site and how easy it is to shop from. The V by Very range, which also has it’s own curvy range is one of my favourites to shop on the site. What I love about the curvy range is that I know if I order a top I will have no issue with how it sits on my boobs. With real size models you can see what the clothes look like for curvy shapes and bigger busts. The jeans are also a great fit and I feel comfortable buying them without having tried them on first! Up until this year I had never shopped on Simply Be, which is a shame! Recently I attended their Summer press day where I got to take home some clothes to try out and I was also gifted a voucher to get some bits on their site. I honestly can’t believe I had never bought from them before because the clothes are fab! I have added some really nice pieces to my wardrobe that suit my shape so well. The clothes are such good quality and they stock a huge range of brands. Simpy Be stocks clothes from size 12 to 34 which is amazing and I guarantee you’ll find so many new pieces for your wardrobe. Shop on SimplyBe.ie
Pretty Little Thing’s curve range offers something different to your usual curvy clothing. I find PLT are always bang on trend with their offerings and their curve range is no different. Whatever the trend you’re guaranteed to find it on PLT. They offer clothes up to a size 26 as far as I’m aware and is great if your looking for an outfit that is bang on trend but will still suit your body shape. I’m a big fan of their tea dresses and have an ever growing collection in my wardrobe. Shop on PrettyLittleThing.com
ASOS has to be one of the best online retailers there is. If you don’t already know, they have their own ASOS Curve and Plus Size collections which cater for more curvy and larger sizes. What I love about ASOS is you will find whatever you want. From bikinis to jeans you will find your basket filling up with items you never knew you needed. The curve and plus size ranges go up to size 34 and with curvy models wearing the clothes, you can tell what they will actually look like on before you buy. Shop on Asos.com
Whenever anyone asks my favourite jeans I always say River Island Molly’s. They are just the comfiest I’ve found and have a really good fit. River Island have a plus size range of clothing, including the Molly jeans, and the plus range goes from size 18-28. If you’re looking for great jeans that will last you or a fab top or dress for a special occasion, definitely check out RI. Shop in-store or on RiverIsland.ie
