Investment Pieces I’m Adding To My Wardrobe

Investment Pieces Im Adding To My Wardrobe

If you’ve followed me for a while you will know I’m no stranger to a huge Penneys shopping spree. This year though I’ve started to add a lot more investment pieces to my wardrobe and it’s definitely something I want to continue going forward.

I love being able to go into the likes of Penneys and get loads of new clothes for very little money. But at the end of the day most of the items don’t last long. I’ve been investing in my bags for years and rarely buy cheap bags anymore. This is something I’m starting to do now with the rest of my wardrobe and shoes. I think having a few key pieces in your wardrobe that can be worn over and over again saves so much in the long run.

I know everyone doesn’t have the budget for going out and buying loads of designer pieces, I definitely don’t! But by skipping a few high street hauls, I can put that money aside to buy something I really want, which will last me so much longer. I’m not going to completely stop buying from high street stores and Penneys, but I think going forward I’m not going to throw my money away as easily on clothes that won’t last longer than a few months.

Veja Trainers

I’ve wanted a pair of these trainers for well over a year after seeing them on Instagram. When James asked me what I wanted for my birthday this year, these are what I went for. I think everyone in the world is trying to be a little more eco-conscious and I love how these are made from fully recycled or eco-friendly materials. I went for the Campo trainers in the white/natural colour and I’m so happy with them. It was hard to find my size in these as the production seems to have been affected by Covid 19 so you may need to do a bit of searching if you want to get a pair. I got mine from Office.

DKNY Elissa Small Pebbled Leather Shoulder Bag

Bags are something that I’ve been investing in for years and are something I love collecting. I gave up buying cheap bags years ago as they just don’t last. You don’t need to be buying bags that cost thousands either. Whilst I’m a sucker for high-end designer bags, affordable designer bags are normally just as high quality and last years. I have a few DKNY bags and have been pretty happy with the quality of them so far. I wanted a new black crossbody which would look great with different outfits and is the perfect size for taking with me when I’m going out. My sister picked this up in New York for me but you can get it here or here.

Michael Kors Dylan Espadrilles

I love wearing espadrilles in summer and really wanted to invest in a pair this year that would last me. I did have my eye on a pair of Stella McCartney Espadrilles but at nearly €300 I just couldn’t validate spending that much on them (this year!). After a quick search I came across this Michael Kors pair which are actually so similar to the Stella ones I seen and look great. They arrived this week so I can’t wait to start getting some proper wear out of them. I got the nude beige pair so that they would go with most of my summer outfits. You can get these from Micahel Kors stores or online from Farfetch.

I’m definitely looking at getting a couple of good blazers this year so I think they will be my next investment pieces to buy. Unless I see another pair of shoes that I can’t resist! I’m putting aside a small amount of money from every paycheck so hopefully in a couple of months I can add more to my designer collection. My next big spend will be on a Louis Vuitton bag, I’ve wanted one for years. But with a few expensive things happening this year, I can’t see a bag of that price point being a purchase until next year.

I would love to know what your thoughts are on saving up to invest in higher quality or designer items, and is there anything your saving for that I should add to my list!
