Favourite Autumnal Style

Autumn/winter has always been my favourite time of year. As a child I couldn’t wait to go out stomping on crunchy leaves and go skiing with my family. As I got older it began to signal the start of, in my opinion, the best season for fashion and beauty.
They are THE seasons for layering and accessories! It is now time to start getting out the boots, scarves, coats, hats… The list is endless. You can have so many amazing outfits with a few key items in your wardrobe and a mixture of accessories. This also means it is now acceptable for me to darken up my makeup and wear some bold looks that would just look ridiculous during spring/summer!
I love online shopping and one of my go-to online stores is Missguided. I find they have such fashionable and good quality clothes at really affordable prices. I’m loving their autumn/winter campaign at the moment, its so on trend with many key pieces that will last for years! I’m definitely going to be purchasing one of the camel coats, the only problem is that with such a great range, I don’t know what to pick!
I was window shopping in River Island the other day and had to walk out. They have so many amazing pieces this season, I could almost hear my bank account crying! I am seriously in love with the collection of boots they have at the moment and they also have some great day dresses. I’m not a massive fan of jeans so in the autumn I’m always looking for cute dresses and skirts that I can wear with tights and boots.
For me Topshop is one of those shops that I walk into, comment on how nice the clothes are and, after looking at the price tag, walk back out! I’m sorry but I refuse to pay Topshop ?30 for a cami when Penneys has one almost identical for ?8. When it comes to the colder months of the year however, I change my tune. There is no denying they have some beautiful clothes which are very high quality. This is exactly what I’m looking for when buying for the Autumn. Clothes that I know are going to last me until the weather decides to warm up again, so realistically until May! I’ll definitely be picking up some key pieces like the navy sleeveless jacket or the long rust turtleneck pictured above.
When it comes to buying new clothes, I like many others, cannot afford to go buy a whole new wardrobe from high street shops. This is when I turn to Penneys. They have some amazing and affordable pieces that will last me throughout autumn and winter. I also won’t mind if they fall apart come February as they have not cost me a bomb. Lately Penneys has stepped it up a notch and the quality of their clothes is a lot better. I really love the jeans and with prices starting off at ?9 you can’t go wrong. Recently I picked up some of their jeggings and I have to say they are not the uncomfortable elastic things that came out a few years ago. They have them in amazing colours for this season and they look amazing with boots and a knit jumper. The knit-wear section in store at the moment has every type of top/jumper/cardigan/poncho you could need this year… Put simply, I needed to double-bag it walking out of the shop last week!
I love planning the layers of clothes needed to keep warm during the cold months. I have a few staple pieces that I always bring out at this time of year like my collection of boots and scarves. I’m always wearing my timberlands with jeans, a casual knit and a gorgeous scarf. Or my knee high boots with tights and a skirt. One of the best things about autumn fashion are the deep rich colours clothes come in. There are endless possibilities when it comes to picking an outfit and I cannot wait to truly begin the best dress up season of the year!
What do you think? Is this your favourite time for fashion or am I completely mad?!
